Sponsorship

AA defines a sponsor in this way: “An alcoholic who has made some progress in the recovery program who shares that experience on a continuous, individual basis with another who is attempting to attain or maintain sobriety through A.A.”

Perry Street has an interim sponsorship program that facilitates connections between potential sponsors and sponsees. You can contact our sponsorship coordinators by phone – their numbers are posted on the bulletin board behind the desk – or by email at interimsponsorship@perrystreetbusiness.org.

If you are interested in having an interim sponsor, provide your name and phone number (and email address, if you’d like).  It is helpful to provide the date on which you entered AA.

If you are interested in being an interim sponsor and have been clean and dry for at least one year, provide your name and phone number (and email address, if you’d like). It is helpful to provide the year of your last drink and the year you were born. (While length of sobriety and age often do not matter in a sponsorship relationship, sometimes members request a sponsor who is sober longer than they are and/or around their age.)
